ULOG #003 ENTRY
Day 19 07/05
My NYSC diary still continues and I would love to say thank you to everyone I've been able to carry along. It has been sum total a mixed experience.
More than two weeks now, I left home coupled with 2512 fellows like me for a strange land to serve.
Yesterday been Monday, we were ushered to the parade group to have our prayers, meditation and to also take the anthems. We were addressed shortly after about the coming of the DG (Director General) in person of Brigadier general Kazaure.
We had sanitation to ensure him, the DG meets our camp well. We were informed he was coming from an eastern state, Enugu state and that he was still going to get to the Lagos camp before he finally says hello to us.
He came late in the evening and everyone was happy to have him around. He was surrounded by his heavily armed bodyguards. He got entertained by the cultural dancers, Man O' war, guard, martial arts and bands. He was pleased by our performances and he gave us a token.
He commended us and told us how pleased he was. He rated our camp as the best he has ever been to. He told us to be good corpers and faithfully serve Nigeria. He was in Sagamu till about 1:00am before he finally took his leave. We went back in joyful we had only a day to go.
