What Happens When AI Can Edit Like Lightroom?

Yesterday, my aunt took me around Surabaya and we traveled to some areas including City of Tomorrow Mall ( I thought it was CITO but apparently, it was Ciputra World Surabaya). We started the journey around noon and took the toll road to reach Surabaya. Since it was quite a spontaneous visit, I didn't bring anything but my camera. It was like an opportunity for me to take pictures around and learn how this fuji camera works.

From inside the moving car, I managed to capture pictures from the riverside of surabaya to smaller parks under the toll road.

These pictures are edited with AI, especially ChatGpt and now I wonder, why do we need software like lightroom when you can produce the same edited image under the same prompt?

Will it still be relevant in the future? And even lightroom is using AI these days to enhance the editing process. Trying this method today, I realized that we're saving even more time.

In the past, my process used to look like this : First, I transfer the picture from my camera to my laptop, transfer it back to my phone for post-processing using mobile lightroom, transfer it again and then upload it to the internet.

Nowadays, we can simply write the prompt doing the same thing " Auto adjust the color, adjust the alignment and apply muted filters" and that would result the same thing faster without having to transfer everything back and forth.

That begs the question, is the image still mine? yes. It's not AI but mine. What about post-edit, is still mine? yes because I still do the same edit as I normally do with lightroom. Even lightroom offers free custom presets that sometimes aren't even ours to begin with.

And these are the real pictures of them pre-editing. You can see they just need auto-balance and all good. So maybe what changed isn't the creativity behind it but as it removes all the steps like transferring back and forth that can be unnecessary.
