Think With Caffeine #3 : Proactive instead of Reactive
The water is brewing... it has been a while since I made coffee from home, a good espresso from my french press.
I have been up until 7 AM and woke up at 3 PM today. No matter how hard I try to wrap my head around what happened yesterday, I still could not find the best way to process the information. As much as I try not to care, I still care. But I wished, I wished I didn't have to roll out tears, I wish I didn't feel anything but I did upon hearing the news. But that news was only a part that bothers me. A major part which bothers me was my inability to be proactive instead of reactive.
This particular matter was hard for my mother and I. We never experienced this situation before. As a family, we have been through poverty, many times, we have been though feuds, we dealt with mean people, sickness, devastating accidents, and major loss. I grew up surrounded by this and it never killed my motivation. Instead, I was more driven to change things around, to finally find a little piece of freedom and happiness. Yet, these last five years everything was crumbling. It is as if we had enough of everything and the only way we still have hopes for living is to convince ourselves that someday and somehow things will change.
I am at the prime age where I should work as hard yet here I am, lost, confused and traumatized. Strangely, each time I try to better myself another problem comes. This is where I want to improve myself on; being proactive instead reactive.More on that, keeping my composure calm when I heard unfortunate events. I certainly hope so that I could change the direction of my ship, to something better.
Looks like I have to turn on the water heater again. I can't decided if I should drink Robusta or Arabica. But for sure, I am going to make something with chocolate. So, it's Mocha. I think mocha is a special menu in a cafe since it's a bit difficult to replicate the same experience at home unless you have a coffee machine. But here's my recipe....
- 1tbsp coffee (french pressed) with only 80ml water
- 2 teaspoon chocolate powder
- 8gr sugar
- Add 50 ml water
- Enjoy a heartwarming mocha without milk
That's all I can say today during this session. The point is, always choose being proactive instead of being reactive to an unfortunate situation.
