SAN REMIGIO FIESTA 2026
Hello everyone! It's me, , back again with another exciting blog to share.
May is the month in our place when many fiestas happen, from town fiestas to barangay fiestas. I consider May a month that can really drain your wallet, especially since it is also the last month of vacation for some people. That's why many of us spend every little penny during this month. And if you ask me if I did the same, my answer is a BIG YES lol HAHAHAHA!!
Actually, May is one of the months I always look forward to. Aside from the San Remigio Fiesta, our barangay fiesta is also celebrated during this month. It is also one of the few times when I can go out more freely and come home almost at 12 a.m. hehe.
Seriously, May can really make you spend a lot of money. Last May 8, 2026, Ashley and I attended a concert. The concert was organized to raise funds for our municipality's church. The money collected would help with the church's renovation. Since my father bought me a ticket without even telling me first HAHAHAHA! I decided to attend because my best friend also had a ticket.
The concert started very late. We arrived at almost 8 p.m. because it was supposed to start at 8 p.m., and of course Filipino time as what they say, and also they were also waiting for the bands to arrive, so the concert finally started at almost 9 p.m. Even though the venue was not fully packed, I still enjoyed the concert because I was with my best friend. We really enjoyed the songs and the overall vibe.
After the concert, we got hungry, especially me because I had skipped dinner. We walked to the nearest snack bar and bought drinks and French fries.
Then came the day of our municipality's fiesta, and once again, I went with my best friend, together with her mother and brother. May 16, 2026, was definitely another day that emptied my wallet because there were so many food stalls and vendors selling clothes, makeup, watches, phone cases, jewelry, and many other things. As for me, I spent most of my money on shawarma because I had been craving it. It was worth it since it was a buy-one-take-one promo. And please don't judge me—I skipped dinner again. 😭😭
The main event I was waiting for during the fiesta was the Lapyahan Festival. I also saw our Governor and even met some of my elementary school teachers from SRLC. I was surprised when someone called my name, and when I looked, they were actually my former teachers. We talked for a while, asked each other how we were doing, and they asked about my college course. I also asked which schools they were assigned to now. When the event started, our conversation naturally ended.
When the Lapyahan Festival began, everyone was incredibly supportive, and the venue became fully packed. It was so crowded that the heat was almost unbearable HAHAHAHA!! Even though my legs were already hurting from standing and waiting for almost an hour, it was all worth it. The Festival Queens were beautiful and graceful, and the dancers also gave amazing performances.
After the event, Ashley and I decided to buy something that matched. At first, I wanted to buy a vintage watch because it was affordable at only 100 pesos, but I kept changing my mind, so Ashley ended up buying one instead. For our matching accessory, we found a cute bracelet with butterfly designs split into two halves. We also chose colors that matched our favorite colors.
And that's it! It may seem like I didn't spend much money, but trust me, May is always something I look forward to—not only because of the many fiestas but also because of all the money I end up spending HAHAHAHA!!
See you in my next blogs, guys!!
