Across the Bridge Downtown

I'm amazed how much black-and-white photography alters the feel of a scene. I like its particular effect on geometrical shapes, and this city contains many sights that facilitate its exploration. For this entry to the #monomad challenge, I decided to re-explore the sights along the downtown bridge, which include this mind-twisting condominium.

This is one of the city's most iconic and eye-popping architectural oddities located beside the bridge. It's relatively new with a few visual tricks up its sleeve. Every angle elicits mixed emotions in me, including artistic awe, aesthetic wonder, and a touch of seismological anxiety.

I snapped these images with my camera mode set to monochrome.

Did I mentioned we live in a region called the Pacific Ring of Fire?

Moving on to calmer views along the bridge, you can take it all in from up there. It was a windy day, but the skies were clear, and the bay was also clear with mountains in the distance.

It's great to see the boats gliding up and down the Creek from up there. The bridge is extremely pedestrian friendly, so it feels exciting and exhilarating, unless you fear heights, which in case it'll be hair raising and stomach churning 🤢
