Control by Tenth Avenue North
๐ต Hello Music Lovers of Hive Music community! ๐
About Two to three years ago, the social media space was buzzing with posts and reposts of a viral gospel song that was rendered by an Acapella crew. The crew had more than twenty singers who joyfully sang the beautiful gospel song titled "Control" by Tenth Avenue North. Although it was an Acapella, many music producers jumped on the song and added beautiful instrumentals to the Acapella as a remix, to embellish it and make it "vibe-able."
No doubt, this song is a beautiful song that it's lyrics will make you appreciate God's work and grace in our lives. It speaks about the bountiful love of God and how His love overshadows us amidst our weaknesses. It also encourages us to submit our will to the will of God. It asks us to seek for God's direction in all we do.
In truth, this song speaks about how I feel at the moment, and this has been my feeling for 6 years now. I've realized that God's hands is always involved in everything I do, and this has made me stop regretting, rather I've begun to look at the big picture. This is becauseI come to realize that what I thought was bad luck or disappointment for me, was actually a necessary experience for me in the next phase God was/is leading me to. Hence, the feeling in me to God, is summarised in the words, "do with me whatever you will."
I had to choose between presenting this song in a solemn/calm way, or adding an original composed instrumental while I sing over it. In making my choice, I had to consider what will be the best mode of presentation, such that I won't have to look down to check the extra lyrics, plus a style that won't make you sleep while watching this video.
Hence, I tryed to create a beat with my Semi-acoustic guitar, and I recorded it over the loop; strumming the guitar alongside. Then I sang the first verse and chorus, and improvised with the guitar.
I think I need to deepen my knowledge of doing the Guitar Beat Box so that I'll be able to strum chords, give beat with the guitar and sing alongside.
I hope you enjoy this beat.
That reminds me, at a point I felt this beat will also be good for rappers. You can jump in with your rap lines you know?
