So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “DESIGNER BABIES”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “FREE SPEECH”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us their thoughts on free speech and people getting to express their arts on public properties where no one gets physically hurt, and no rights are violated. This is something that has become a major part of modern civilization.

We got to see that this is a form of expression; people do it constantly now to ensure that their voices are heard because other traditional means are just not working. But then, the limits that are placed on it by law also ensure that not all expressions are protected under the free speech act. This was an enlightening topic, indeed.

*For this author, he told us that no freedom of speech comes completely free, because every word and expression has a specific consequence or value. Irresponsible word choice in any place family, society, or online media can damage relationships, status, and respect. It is more important to maintain mutual peace, order, and social relationships than to express oneself as one pleases in public.”

This author told us that in a free country, everyone has the right to express their opinions, but it is very important to be responsible when expressing thoughts in public. If that work of art disrespects another religion or hurts people's social feelings, society rejects it. But nothing goes wrong with free expression in public if one has the mentality of bearing the consequences and responsibility for one's actions.

“Would it be okay if parents could pick and choose the kind of babies they get to have? If they can genetically modify the genes of their baby while it's a foetus to meet standards they want, will this be okay? Or should everyone simply be content with the baby they are blessed with? What precedent would such a lifestyle be setting in the future?”
