The word ‘Hustler’ pronounced as /ˈhʌslə/ is an informal American slang which means the following:
• A person who engages in fraudulent acts to make money.

• A prostitute.

• A person who employs fraudulent or unscrupulous methods to obtain money; a swindler.

• An expert gambler or game player, who seeks out challengers, especially unsuspecting amateur ones, in order to win money from them.

SYNONYMS: con artist, prostitute, call girl, swindler, whore, cheater, floozy, ne'er-do-well, etc.

The word “hustler” most of the time has a negative connotation. Some people believe that a “hustler” is someone who is trying to take advantage of them, hence I want to admonish you to use other words instead. Below is the list of words you can use in place of ‘Hustler’.

Instead of saying hustler, you can say: enterpriser, active person, ambitious person, ball of fire, beaver, busy bee, busy person, doer, dynamo, etc.
