Getting More from Less: My Experience with Multi-Cropping

Hello everyone,

One thing I enjoy most about farming is how you can constantly find practical ways to make the best use of the resources you have. Land is one of the most valuable assets for us farmers, and it is very hard to acquire or rent due to the huge cost placed on the few readily available farm lands.

The overwhelming cost of acquiring good land has gradually driven most farmers like me to try many unorthodox approaches to farming, just to ensure we get the best possible results at the end of the farming year...

While this problem has driven so many eager farmers out of the work, I am not planning to stop anytime soon, so I needed to put my brain to use and find a way to make things work out no matter how hard it looks.

This necessitated the need for multi-cropping on all phases, though it might not look like the cleanest way to farm, but who cares as long as the results are good and I don't go out of business because of the lack of land.

And to achieve that, the very best pairings have to be made, and just like you know, some crops bond especially well with some compared to others. Groundnut and maize are one pairing you should try, especially if the land is very fertile.

Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Have you ever tried multi-cropping on your farm, or would you consider it?
