It's been quite a ride

Two years went by so quickly. That's when I started my fine art photography studies. And when it was time to take a deep dive in to portrait photography, I surely did that and am still sinking. Deeper and deeper. I think I kinda know what I'm doing but every now and then I stumble into something new and realize that I know nothing. Or I forget stuff and make rookie mistakes.

Original photos: simultaneous double flash. ISO 100Aperture: around 11, shutter: longer than 1/20.

We, meaning my study group that is now named Hajavalo Kollektiivi - Ambient Light Collective, has a a joint photography exhibition in July. So if you happen to be in Finland, or already live here and want to visit the city of Tampere, come to the exhibiton. It's not in the city centre but it's really easy to get there by buss or car. The exhibition is in Haihara art centre. There's a cafe, manor and the former stable where our exhibion is. My series, Moving picture - Liikuttava kuva, is part of the whole exhibition called Extracts from life - Otteita elämästä.

Moving picture, series of 12 photos as part of a joint photography exhibition: Extracts From Life by Ambient Light Collective at Haihara Art Centre, Stable, Tampere, Finland.

Consider yourself invited!

The photo above won't be included in the series. It would have fitted well but I didn't get a responce from the model in time and as I'm having the photos printed to fabric and the company that makes that, apparently can't quite do it in the time frame that they say on their web site: 6-7 work days and 1-3 days shipping. And I should have needed to test the colors with a smaller print first.

But let's see if even these photos are incluned in the exhibition. Or any of my photos! I of course did take into account that the printing could take longer than six to seven days, but their last print, that had small photos in it so that I can see the colors, took 12 days! I did not expect it taking that long!

So it may be that I'm in trouble.

I'm hoping that the next printed fabrics arrive this week.

In motion

Journey, passage, voyage.
Repetition, figure, pattern.
Planned coincidences, a tiny hiccup.
Shift, side wings, offset, change.
A breath, a step, a leap of a decade.
Trace of light, tranquil moment, timeless feeling.
Movement.
It’s a process.

It's been quite a ride.

But it's not over yet. So you'll be hearing more about this. Especially if things go wrong and it's time for me to panic.
