The lai fruit (Durio kutejensis Becc.) Is one of the fruits that are closely related to the durian fruit. Names or lay are the typical names given by the indigenous people of East Kalimantan.
In other areas the name is also different, in Central Kalimantan called Pampaken or Pampakin, in Brunei it is called durian bulu, while in Sarawak it is called Nyekak.
This distinctive feature of lai fruit is found in flowers, the leaves of the fruit. Small to medium lai fruit (1-2 kg), light green or yellowish green when still raw and yellow to brown when ripe.
Her skin is thin and her spines are very sharp. This fruit harvest season is generally from January to March, with a peak harvest in February. The meat portion is around 20-40% with a slightly dry or soft and smooth texture.
