Icy Week Activities
Most everything grinds to a halt in the South when there is actual winter precipitation. We were blessed to miss the heavy ice that has crippled the Deep South, but still have road and school closures and lots of icy paths in shady areas.
I have used my down time from canceled classes to get some projects done. Besides finishing some minor clothing alterations, I made myself a new slip/summer nightgown from soft tricot fabric. It cost less than buying one ready-made and I have enough fabric leftovers to use for lining another project.
I used a pattern I already owned, although I could just as easily have traced off an existing garment.
I also got cranking on a scarf using my circular knitting machine. Although I love the slow relaxation of knitting with needles, sometimes I like the machine for long, boring strips of fabric. The length of the scarf will be whatever uses up this gold tweed yarn.
I hope all my readers are snug and warm.
