Fiberfrau's Finished Dirndl

I was so pleased with my dirndl project, I put it on the mannequin to do a photo shoot.

The animal print theme combines with floral accents (see the buttons and the apron applique) to give a modern, sassy take on a traditional folk costume.

I used fusible applique for the flower on the apron. The belt buckle and the buttons were salvaged from worn clothing. I was so happy, I wore the dirndl to my sewing class tonight. I plan to make a black dirndl blouse, though, as I think that will harmonize better with the outfit.
