A Flower, For You
a flower, for you
I picked purple
lavender and the nostalgia
of our childhood
soapy baths and
long nights
the stars have gone by
but you remain
in a day
white innocence
shy away
from the prying eyes
that cannot keep to themselves
hide away
from the violence of the night's
callings
and the jealousy
bathe yourself
in rosemary
remember the days
when we used to run
without care
remember the days
when we used to not worry
about everything around us
bathe yourself
in rosemary
so that I can remember
my youth
in your breath
dress yourself
in yellow flowers
to our wedding
under the sun
betwixt the mountains
so that we might
ground ourselves
in the soil of our becoming one
and look at the snow flowers
dripping from the sky
that cries over the moment
we again meet
Postscriptum
My days are spent in ways I would not like to. I would much rather write poetry and grow flowers. Mother nature does not need much attention. She grows her flowers and we as poets can merely write about them.
I hope you enjoyed this poem. It is for a special someone.
All of the photographs are my own taken with my Nikon D300 and 50mm lens. The poem is also my own creation. Stay safe.
