Visiting Tsitsikamma Micro Brewery in Stormsrivier | Fermented BeerMaps
Tucked away in the Stormsrivier forest, the small micro brewery feels like a slice of heaven, especially after a long day.
We were driving for a while now, getting the roadtrip under way, and we saw the small brewery boasting various beers.
And it was also on my beer passport! What luck.
We turned in, and parking our car under one of the magical and massive trees, we sat down for a sip or three.
The brewery had various beers on tap, and obviously I gravitated toward the larger ales. They had some interesting beers on tap though. Which is a good thing, until you need to buy some beer... Which ones do you take with so many options on the table?
The Massive Trees
Sadly, this area was part of the logging world long ago. Massive trees were cut down without giving it a second thought. Much of the remnants are still available today - tree stumps that now only show the massive trees, almost like a footprint in the earth.
Enjoying a Beer at a Beautiful Brewery
You sit outside when you enjoy a beer, but the inside of the brewery is beautiful.
The building is rather old, but they used all of this to their advantage.
The taps are decorated with beautiful old pipes. The building itself now transformed into an open brewery, where you can actually see where they make the beer. I see this getting all the more popular, with some breweries actually making the beer while you drink a beer!
Either way, the brewery was modern yet old, and the mix worked beautifully.
Time to have some beer though!
The Trusty Beer Passport
For a couple of years now, the beer passport have brought me to places I would never have dreamed. That is interesting in itself. I love it. Today, I had a crisp and cold ale, they did not have their IPA on tap. So, I sipped away, enjoying the most beautiful of views. It was good!
And if you drink too much, the general store across the store has some nice medicine and other snacks!
All of the musings and writings are my own, albeit inspired by some beers. The photographs are also my own, taken with my Nikon D300.
