Yuca Mash

Ingredients

🥥 2 yucas
🧈 1 stick of unsalted butter
🧀 8 oz of cream cheese
🍶 1 cup of heavy cream
🧄 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
🧂 1 teaspoon of salt (or to taste)
🧈 Additional melted butter for garnish
🌿 Parsley or chives for garnish


Instructions

1- Prep the Yucca:

  • Begin by peeling the yucas. Then wash and chop them into bite-sized pieces.

2- Boil the Yucca:

  • Place the chopped yuccas in a pot and cover them with water.
  • Boil for about 30 minutes or until the yucca is fork-tender.

3- Drain and Mash:

  • Drain the yucca and return it to the pot.
  • Add the unsalted butter, cream cheese, and heavy cream to the pot.

4- Season and Combine:

  • Season the mixture with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Use a masher to mash the ingredients until smooth.

5- Garnish and Serve:

  • Drizzle some melted butter over the mash.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or chives.
