Easy Homemade Potato Samosas
These potato samosas are incredibly easy to make and taste amazing, perfect for busy days or when you have guests coming over. They come together really fast with a delightful combination of spices and vegetables, offering a tasty treat that everyone will love.
Ingredients
๐ฅ 1 (28oz) bag hash browns mixed with onions and peppers
๐ฅ 1 (12oz) bag of frozen peas and carrots
๐ฎ 1 package of uncooked flour tortillas
๐ง 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
๐ฟ 1 teaspoon garam masala
๐ถ๏ธ 1 teaspoon chili powder
๐ถ๏ธ 1 teaspoon paprika
๐ง 1 teaspoon garlic powder
๐ฟ 1/2 teaspoon cumin
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
๐ถ๏ธ 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
๐ซ 2 tablespoons olive oil
๐ซ Oil for frying
Instructions
1- Prepare the Filling:
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the hash browns mixed with onions and peppers to the skillet.
- Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the hash browns become slightly golden and tender.
- Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet and stir well.
- Season the mixture with seasoned salt, garam masala, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, black pepper, and chili flakes.
- Mix everything together until the vegetables are well-coated with the spices.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring the vegetables are heated through.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool down.
2- Assemble the Samosas:
- Take the uncooked flour tortillas and cut each one in half.
- To form a cone, apply a bit of water with your fingertip on the straight edge of the half tortilla.
- Bring the edges together to form a cone shape and pinch the bottom and sides to seal.
- Fill the cone with the cooled filling mixture.
- Apply a bit more water on the top edge and pinch it closed to seal the samosa.
3- Fry the Samosas:
- In a deep pan, heat enough oil for frying over medium heat.
- Carefully add the filled samosas to the hot oil.
- Fry them until they turn golden brown on all sides.
- Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
