Hive turns 6: My Journey On Hive
In the year 2017, I had zero knowledge on crypto and web3 entirely at that time. I was skeptical about joining the Blockchain after a friend introduced me to hive(then steem) and that was because I considered everything online that promises money to be a scam. Though it sounds funny, a lot of people had testimonies of how they were scammed on sites and it became a general belief among us.
I decided to give it a try, not sure what lied ahead. This was before the hard fork. The platform then was called steemit and unlike other sites with the promise of quick wealth, the journey only taught me patience and persistence, and gradually unfolding the area of financial independence. The steemit platform was rigid, tougher than the luxury people enjoyed as they migrated to the new forked site -which is hive. But while it was all tough, it made me appreciate the hive platform more. I lost my details, then returned after the fork on the hive platform.

In the year 2020, I joined the hive platform, now with a different username. There I learned about the word "decentralization" . The word was trending and it became a concern to look it up. By this time I had buried my belief that online platforms were a scam and I had fully accepted web3 as the new era.
While on hive, I was able to make friends with whom we share a common interest in writing. I made my first few bucks that gave me genuine smiles, not because they were huge, but because I found a site where I could learn, grow and earn. The hive platform gave me my basic knowledge of web3 and the crypto space entirely.
