Creating An Avatar in Splinterlands
In this post I'll explain a little about avatars and finally create my avatar in Splinterlands.
In my posts I like to talk about Arcade Colony, so let's get to know this game platform before continuing to talk about Splinterlands.
Arcade Colony
Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.
For more information about the platform, read the Whiteppaper.
There are 4 games in Arcade Colony and they are:
The games I like the most are Splinterlands and Moon Karts because in my opinion they are the most fun and profitable.
Remember that this is not an investment tip.
Let's continue talking about avatars in Splinterlands.
To create/change your avatar you need to click on your avatar on the Splinterlands website.
There are 3 options for you to edit on this page and they are:
- Avatar
- Exemplar
- Badge
I'll start with the avatar and create mine.
At the beginning you will choose your Bloodline and the gender of your avatar, then there are options for you to customize your avatar.
I chose Human as my Bloodline and the male gender, this was the final result after customizing my avatar.
Let's go to the Splinterlands exemplar; in this option, you'll create a card with your avatar.
In the exemplar, there are several options. You can choose melee, ranged, and magic attacks for your card, as well as the abilities it will possess.
Remember that the more stats and abilities your card has, the higher the mana cost will be. Initially, you start with 20 points available, and as you level up your avatar, you get more points to spend on the exemplar.
This is the exemplar I decided to create. I like the fire deck, and it combines well with ranged cards, so it's a good choice for my current strategies.
The good news is that you can edit your avatar without spending much later, so if I regret it, I can create a new one.
For now, I've chosen only one ability, and that was the Dodge ability. I combined this ability with a good amount of attack speed, so my card won't be an easy target to hit.
Lastly, we have the Badge. You can choose up to 4 badges, but I only chose 1.
