Walking around historic harbour in Watchet 2
Today I continued my walk around the Watchet harbour along the esplanade
As you round the corner you come to splash point as it is known .There is a very strong flow of tide along this wall as you can see.
The wall was destroyed by the strong sea a year or so ago and has now been rebuilt .The current flows so fastalong the wall there, you can not be anywhere near here if strong winds and high sea.
When you look over the wall it so interesting and surprising no sandy beach just rocks .When I was young spent manys hours searching the rock pools it was so interesting and fun you never what you find find and see .
Stones or boulders have been used to try and stop the coastal erasion
Just a little walk from the harbour is a fascinating machine associated with the old Stoates Mill which dates back to 1800
so glad it has been saved for us all to see and know our history .
