Salted Maple Iced Latte

Welcome to the perfect cozy fall beverage: the Salted Maple Iced Latte! With flavors reminiscent of a delightful salted caramel, this coffeehouse-style latte combines the rich sweetness of maple syrup with a touch of sea salt, warm cinnamon, and creamy milk. It's an irresistible iced coffee treat designed for any coffee lover eager to embrace the flavors of autumn.

Ingredients

๐Ÿ 18 to 20g Pure Maple Syrup
๐Ÿง‚ A pinch of Sea/Kosher Salt
๐ŸŒฐ 1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
โ˜• 17g Coffee Beans
๐Ÿฆ 1/8 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
๐Ÿฅ› 80ml Whole Milk
๐Ÿงด 10ml Heavy Cream or use 90ml milk
๐ŸงŠ Ice to fill the glass


Instructions

1- Prepare Your Glass:

  • Place an empty glass on a digital kitchen scale and tare it to zero.

2- Add Syrup & Seasonings:

  • Pour 18 to 20 grams of pure maple syrup into the glass.
  • Add a pinch of sea or kosher salt.
  • Sprinkle in 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon.

3- Prepare the Espresso:

  • Weigh and grind 17 grams of coffee beans using an espresso machine with an integrated grinder such as the Breville Barista Express.
  • Tamp the grounds into the portafilter.

4- Combine Coffee & Syrup:

  • Position the glass containing the syrup mixture under the espresso machine spouts.
  • Pull 2 shots of espresso directly into the glass.

5- Froth the Base:

  • Using an electric hand frother Dalstrong in this case, froth the espresso mixture for 30 to 40 seconds until it is well combined and frothy.

6- Add Vanilla:

  • Stir in 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Froth again if needed to integrate it fully.

7- Assemble the Latte:

  • Fill the glass almost to the top with ice cubes.
  • Pour 80ml of whole milk over the ice and frothed coffee base.
  • Optionally, add 10ml of heavy cream, or substitute by adding 90ml total of whole milk instead.

8- Blend and Serve:

  • Stir the drink with a metal straw until the ingredients are well mixed and the layers are evenly combined.
  • Serve immediately for the best experience.
