Flaming Spanish Coffee

Indulge in a fiery, decadent twist on the classic Irish coffee with this Flaming Spanish Coffee Cocktail. This beverage delights with a rich blend of coffee liqueur, orange liqueur, and overproof rum, topped off with freshly brewed coffee and a touch of lightly whipped cream. What sets this drink apart is the dramatic caramelized sugar rim created with a burst of flame, adding a captivating note to each sip. This is perfect for a cozy evening dessert drink or an impressive cocktail to wow your guests.

Ingredients

๐Ÿฅƒ 3/4 oz Goslings 151 PROOF Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum
๐ŸŠ 1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
๐Ÿน 1.5 oz Rob's Bar Coffee Liqueur or Kahlรบa
โ˜• Freshly brewed coffee from French Press to top
๐Ÿš Granulated sugar for rim
๐Ÿ‹ 1 lime for rimming the glass
๐Ÿฆ Lightly whipped cream to top
๐Ÿ” Garnish options: Grated nutmeg, chocolate shavings


Instructions

1- Prepare the Glass:

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of an Irish Coffee mug.

2- Create Sugar Rim:

  • Dip the moist rim into granulated sugar to achieve an even coating.

3- Add Rum:

  • Pour 3/4 oz of Goslings 151 PROOF Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum into the sugar-rimmed mug.

4- Flame the Rum & Caramelize Sugar:

  • Light the rum using a torch lighter and rotate the mug gently, allowing the flame to caramelize the sugar until it bubbles and turns light caramel. Heat until the glass is warm.

5- Extinguish the Flame:

  • Place another glass over the mug to suffocate the fire.

6- Add Liqueurs:

  • Pour 1/2 oz Cointreau and 1.5 oz Rob's Bar Coffee Liqueur into the mug with the now flamed rum.

7- Top with Coffee:

  • Pour freshly brewed hot coffee, leaving about half an inch of space for cream.

8- Add Whipped Cream:

  • Spoon a light layer of whipped cream on top.

9- Garnish:

  • Add grated nutmeg or chocolate shavings over the cream.
