Candy Cane Latte Recipe
Embrace the holiday spirit with our Festive Candy Cane Latte, a delightful blend that combines the warmth of espresso with the cheerful flavors of cherry and mint. This festive beverage is perfect for cozy winter mornings or holiday gatherings, offering a comforting and delicious way to celebrate the season.
Ingredients
๐ 3/4 oz Cherry Flavored Syrup
๐ฟ 1/4 oz Creme de Menthe
โ 1 shot Espresso made with Lavazza Super Crema coffee beans
๐ฅ 4-6 oz Steamed Milk
๐ฆ Dessert Topping or Whipped Cream aerosol can or hand-whipped
๐ฌ Small Candy Canes, crushed
๐ญ 1 Small Candy Cane for garnish
Instructions
1- Steam the Milk:
- Ensure the Gaggia Espresso Pure machine is at steam temperature.
- Purge the steam wand into a Pyrex measuring cup until only steam is released.
- Place the wand into a Rattleware 12oz. Latte Art Pitcher with 4-6 oz of milk.
- Begin steaming to create a slight froth, ideal for a latte.
- Once frothy, heat until the pitcher base is too hot to touch, then stop steaming.
- Clean the steam wand with a cloth after use.
2- Cool the Boiler and Brew Espresso:
- Turn off the steam button on the machine.
- Use a Rattleware 3oz. Shot Glass Pitcher under the portafilter.
- Open the steam valve and press the brew button to cool the boiler.
- Close the steam valve once the steam stops, and let water flow.
- Insert the portafilter with Lavazza Super Crema coffee.
- Brew a shot of espresso directly into the shot glass.
3- Assemble the Latte:
- In a latte glass, combine 3/4 oz cherry syrup and 1/4 oz creme de menthe.
- Pour the espresso shot into the glass.
- Add the steamed milk, blending it with syrups and espresso.
4- Garnish:
- Top generously with dessert topping or whipped cream.
- Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the whipped cream.
- Hang a small whole candy cane on the glass rim for decoration.
