Petal by Surprise: Capturing Flowers Through Random Blossoms
There are days when I plan on going for a photography session, bringing my favorite smartphone and looking for something interesting to capture. But there is something magical about stumbling upon possible photography subjects - like blooming flowers you pass by in the streets. These moments will surely make you look for a camera and take a shot.
As someone who loves taking pictures of flowers, I have spent some time checking out our garden for flowers and interesting plants as my subjects. But most of my favorite shots came from the unplanned ones, like an ordinary walk in our garden, and I came across a beautiful pink flower.
And when I enhance their images at the end of the day, I realize that it's not because of my enthusiasm for taking pictures, but the idea that the flower itself displayed a beauty worth a shot. Their quiet blooming moments need to be showcased as well, and I did it for them.
Taking pictures of flowers in random places comes with challenges as well. What if I cannot get the right angle? What if the background ruins the shot? What if I cannot capture the perfect feeling and story behind the flower? These questions always come up at the back of my head, but I end up taking my shots and letting myself find the best angle of each shot.
If you're like me and enjoy walking outdoors, don't forget to bring your camera - you will never know what beauty you'll encounter along the way. Let yourself wander, and look around. It could be on the fences, the sides of the streets, and in between those wild grasses. I mean, you will never know.
Going on an unplanned photography session is more than just capturing random things; it's also about appreciating the beauty of raw subjects along the way.
