Summer Heat waves in Chennai

We are in the peak of summer. The heat is as high as 45 degree celsius. Especially during the afternoon, when we are travelling by bike, we will be able to see the heat affecting us. It is even evident by affecting our skin. We will be able to feel that. Kids should drink a lot of water. Adults manage to remember that they have to drink more water, but kids don't understand the need for water, and they don't drink water by themselves. We have to ensure that the kids drink enough water or even more than that.

Many people predicted that this summer would be very bad. The main reason is not that we are having global warming, which is true anyway, but the real reason is that we did not have enough rain last year. We have problems both ways. When we have more rain, we have the problem of flood and rainwater management, and when we have very hot weather, we find it very hard to manage the heat. During the daytime, it is becoming very hard to manage the heat. We use air conditioners, but in spite of that, the heat is visible, and we are able to feel that in the form of a headache.

If I go to the office, most of the time I don't have any problem with this heat because the temperature inside the office is very low, and there I have another problem where it is too cold. I have to take multiple breaks where I go outside the office to warm up a little bit. But even though it is very cold, sometimes it makes me feel that the cold itself is better compared to the heat.

During the winter season, we want heat, and during the summer season, we want it to be cold. Strangely, we act differently on each condition. Yesterday, when I was travelling to the office, I was thinking how hard it was a couple of months back to travel to the office by bike because it used to be very cold. Now it is still very bad because the heat wave is heavy.
