One is the red variety, and another is the white variety. People say that the white variety is the most delicious one and the red variety is the most nutritious one. I like both varieties anyway. Now is the best time here to harvest guava from the trees. There are some places where guava is available throughout the year, unlike Jamun fruit or Mango fruit.

One of the biggest problems with guava fruit is the worm inside the fruit. If you see a guava having small black dots on it or a small hole kind of thing on it, it is very likely that it can have a worm inside. The interesting thing is that the worm is also the same color as the fruit. They are also transparent. We will be able to know only if they move. Some people don't really mind it, and they say it is also nutritious, but some people find it disgusting. The reason for this worm inside the fruit is that wasps inject their eggs into the fruit when the fruit is starting to ripen. If there are holes and no worms, then it is likely that we might eat the eggs.

Whenever the fruits start growing, my uncle used to wrap them inside a plastic cover. We can do it only if the fruits are accessible to us. This way, the wasps will not have access, and it will also not give room for squirrels to taste the fruit. It is a simple trick, but it really works.

Now is the right time to pluck and eat the fruit because it is not yet the breeding season for the wasps. They start breeding only after rain starts. So now the fruits are really amazing.
