Will Humanoid Robots be a possibility in the future?

Recently, the Bicentennial Man movie came to my mind. I was wondering if that can be a reality in the future. But today it is already a reality because there are many Humanoid Robots available, and people have already built them, and they are able to do some specific tasks. In countries like Japan, this is being done, and they are doing some advanced research on it. Today we have reached the point where, even for building an advanced Robot, we can still use AI that can help provide ideas and an implementation plan.

To start with, this can be a very costly investment, but gradually, as we get more used to it, I think the cost can become better. Today, robots are being made for specific tasks. They take care of those specific tasks alone. They don't have any separate intelligence; they just rely on what is programmed inside them to do. We are not sure yet if they will be able to do physical activities and how far they can be successful in that. People across the world expect humanoid robots to wash the vessels, wash the clothes and iron them, and fold them neatly.

Today we have so many automated tools available that can take care of washing clothes and washing vessels, but people expect it to be in the format where it should look as if a human is doing those activities. That's how we have seen and fantasized in movies. But we are definitely close to that. I have seen a few videos where people try to make a humanoid robot fall. I'm not sure if that one was made with AI or not, but in spite of kicking multiple times, we will not be able to make it fall. That was an interesting video. I hope it was not AI, and those things make us believe that we are not too far from creating a humanoid robot that can do activities at home along with us.
