Finding it hard to get jobs for freshers

Today AI is changing the trend by so much. People are finding it hard to get into the IT industry and in many companies the existing employees wo have not updated their skills are also being sent out. This has been the trend for the past one year but in the last few months AI is developing very fast and we are able to see a lot of adoption as well. Some companies spent a lot of money to build their own Gen AI but ultimately failed at it and ended up getting a enterprise subscription with an existing service provider in the market.

Recently one of my friend got a job in Gen AI for a very good package but that is just one side of the story but on the other hand a few people who completed their IT degree from a good college is struggling to enter into the industry. The first reason is that there are no openings and the second reason is that they are not sufficient enough in terms of skills. Today the technology has grown so much which the college faculties are not fully updated. Guidance from the colleges may not help but individuals will have to show some efforts and learn the skills. Some people are ignorant and they ask me what course they can study to get a job. I don't have any answers for them.

IT definitely has a lot of scope but just that AI is able to do a lot of things that a fresher or an experienced individual can do, it is becoming very hard to find a suitable job for them. Something that I noticed was that the companies are already trying to reduce the head count so they are not hiring new people anymore. They are already trying to internally move people who's skills have become redundant. This technology transition is huge and I don't know how long this will last but this change is something that everyone will have to go through.

The IT industry is going through a big transition. Let's hope this huge transition brings more opportunities instead of difficulties to the people.
