Vigorous Shake

"You better switch off that television and get to bed Alvin! His mother shouted from the kitchen. "I won't call you twice in the morning before I give you a vigorous shake like an apple tree".
Alvin was so much engrossed in the Tv program he was watching and the headphone did not let him hear what his mum said clear enough. But who cares he thought. I will get up on time for school tomorrow.
He had the habit of going to bed late and like a tree stump, he always finds it difficult to rise up early for school. It got so bad his Mum had to seize the Tv remote countless times.
Griiiiiiiing! Griiiiiiiing! Griiiiiiiiiing! The bedside alarm in Alvin's room went on and on but Alvin was sleeping and far gone, comatose-like.
His mother match up his room, pulled away the blanket, held both his shoulders firmly and shook him so vigorously that he felt his shoulder blade will get a crack.
"Mum!" He said slowly.
"Like I said, the apple tree treatment! Sleepy head!"
