Securing the Fuel Depot.
I abandoned my plan when the sniper spotted me, accidentally stepping on a mine that alerted the base. Forced into a chaotic gunfight, I eliminated the guards and medic using my sniper rifle, depleted my ammo, resorted to my assault rifle, and secured the area at last.
The mission took a sudden turn for the worse when the sniper on the tower nearly spotted my approach. Realizing my stealth cover was about to be completely blown, I had to jump down from my vantage point immediately to avoid detection.
This sudden move forced me to abandon my initial quiet plan. As I scrambled to find another way inside the secure depot, I took a wrong step in the grass and triggered a hidden landmine.
I barely survived the blast, but the damage was already done. The loud boom alerted every single FND soldier in the vicinity. Within seconds, the entire compound was on high alert, and hostile patrols began actively searching the area for my location.
Soldiers immediately poured out of their secure base, fanning out across the yard to hunt down the intruder. The enemy medic started closing the distance, prompting me to find defensive cover quickly.
Realizing the element of surprise was entirely gone, I pulled out my sniper rifle to try to thin their numbers from a distance. I lined up my sights on the medic first, knowing his ability to revive fallen soldiers would make the fight much harder if left unchecked.
I squeezed the trigger, delivering a clean shot that took him out of the equation. However, my gunfire instantly revealed my position, and the remaining forces began directing intense, accurate return fire toward my cover.
Before I could plan my next move, enemy reinforcements arrived at the depot to back up the remaining guards. To make matters worse, the sniper had repositioned and began pinning me down with high-caliber rounds.
I noticed my getaway vehicle parked nearby, which was equipped with a heavy mounted turret. I jumped off the tower and used the parachute just when I was about to fall and die. Then I climbed into the gunner seat, took control of the powerful weapon and shot some enemies down.
The last two defenders attempted to hide inside the concrete structures, but I tracked them down and neutralized them, which effectively cleared the entire base.
The area was captured after all. With the area secured, Benito contacted me to express his relief and gratitude that the vital fuel depot was now under Libertad control.
Then Clara called me and suggested me to get back to the camp so I'd get a boat to get out of the island. I'm not sure if it'll be that easy but still, I'll check out the island more before getting to Clara.
How about we continue in another post?
