Damsel (2024)

I came across this movie few months ago and added it to my watch list. I’ve been putting it aside for a while now, I finally watched it and I was NOT disappointed!

The movie started with Princess Elodie and her younger sister Floria in a kingdom far North. They lived with their father and step mother in a poor and barren kingdom, the princesses had to work to contribute to the kingdom in their own little way.

One day, they received a marriage proposal from Prince Henry of the thriving kingdom of Aurea, Princess Elodie didn’t want the marriage at first but she knew she had a responsibility to her family and her kingdom and marrying a rich prince would be the big break her kingdom needed.

They traveled to Aurea for the wedding, it was a really rich and beautiful kingdom but little did they know that something was up.After a few days, Elodie’s stepmother sensed something wasn’t right and tried to warn her against the marriage but it was a bit too late,Elodie was in love. The wedding happened, everyone was happy except her stepmother and her Father who clearly knew something his family didn’t.

After the wedding, her family were supposed to return to their kingdom immediately and Princess Elodie to complete some ancient ceremony with her husband Prince Henry.

She followed him to the mountains not knowing she was meant to be sacrificed to an ancient dragon that lived in the cave of the mountain.
I love movies that are different from the normal, also if you’re lover of dark fantasy then this one is definitely for you.
The movie portrayed
Betrayal, love, and family
It made me wonder how far people are willing to go to get what they want (in most case…money).
Finally a stepmother that cared for her step-kids than she did herself.
She stood up for herself and her kingdom.

The actors delivered, I love the twist, amazing story. It definitely isn’t the regular damsel in distress story. I can’t wait for you to watch it. I would rate this movie 8/10
