Change the code
Warren sat staring at his screen for hours, indecisive of what to put down and what not to. After hours, the code still wasn’t working. Every time he ran it, it threw back an error message.
He slumped back in his chair, rubbing his eyes and muttered, “I don’t get paid well enough for this.”
He took his Laptop to Lily’s desk to seek help. She leaned in and after staring at the code for a while, she said, “Change the code.”
He looked at her in this disbelief, “That’s your advice? Change the code? Is that all you have to say? I can’t believe I came for here for this.”
It’s simple, rewrite it. And just so you know, you do get paid enough.” She said winking at him.
Warren went back to his desk and took Lily’s advice. After a few hours of rewriting, he closed his eyes and pressed “Run,” half expecting another error message.
And the program worked.
Warren jumped out of his chair in excitement, catching the attention of Colleagues around him. “Sorry about that. YES! He whispered excitedly.
Lily smiled widely and said “Told ya.”
“Yes you did, yes you did. This is me for the day, I need to go home and spend some quality time on my new baby.”
Warren replied packing up to leave.
