2016: : I Almost Let It Ruin My Morning

Hi. Another Sunday morning.

No walk plans for today.Just letting the day unfold on its own while I move through simple household chores. Since I woke up early, I thought I’d start with the laundry. But the water from the faucet is moving so slowly… no pressure at all. I kept waiting, a little annoyed at first—you know, those small things that try to steal your peace early in the day.

But I decided not to let it. I won’t allow something so small to ruin a beautiful morning. Waking up without heaviness in my chest is already a blessing.

While waiting for the washing machine to fill, I cooked breakfast and sat down to enjoy it. And here I am now, holding my phone, writing whatever comes to mind.

In the middle of this quiet morning, a thought drifted in, if only my background right now was a rice field with the sun rising slowly… this breakfast would feel even more perfect. Maybe I just miss home. Or maybe I really do.

Holy days are coming soon. Maybe that’s my chance to go home, to be present in the place I’m imagining right now. Just sitting there, drinking black coffee, eating ensaymada, with nothing but peace around me.

I keep checking the washing machine. The water still takes forever, and I’ll have to rinse everything three times too. Am I annoyed? Not really… maybe just a little. Hehe.

So I go back to the table and take another sip of my coffee. It’s starting to get cold. Coffee time is amazing like that. It makes the mind wander.

Then an idea came: I should plan the day. First, attend mass. Then maybe a quick market run. Simple, but it feels productive.

For now, I’ll just finish this coffee before it gets cold.
