2026: lets have a walk

Early April greeted us with one of the clearest mornings I have seen in a while. The sky looked endless, painted in soft blue without much cloud above it. I woke up early and decided to walk beside the irrigation canal near the rice fields. The air was still cold from the night, and the quietness of the province made everything feel slow and peaceful. Only the sound of flowing water, birds hidden in the trees, and distant rustling leaves could be heard along the way.

As we walked, the sunlight slowly touched the tops of the trees and reflected gently on the water below. The irrigation canal stretched calmly beside the path, carrying fresh flowing water through the fields. Looking at it made me appreciate how important this simple system is for the farmers here. Without it, the rice fields and gardens around would not stay this green and alive.

One thing that amazed me the most were the vegetable vines growing above the canal. Bitter melons and upo hung from the trellis like ornaments in the morning light. Some were long and fully grown already, while others were still small and hidden behind the leaves. The gardens looked healthy and cared for. I was looking if the owner of the farm was near so I would buy some no one is around yet.

Further down the road, we stopped for a while near the open fields. The shadows from the morning sun stretched long across the dirt road, making us laugh at how tall we looked. Coconut trees surrounded the area, swaying softly with the breeze. The golden rice fields beside us looked almost ready for harvest.

While walking, I learned that the gardens above the irrigation were part of a project started by the local farmers group. Hearing that made me admire the place even more. It was not only beautiful because of nature, but also because many people worked together to build and maintain it. Their unity and cooperation could be seen in the healthy plants, clean surroundings, and flowing water.

This morning reminded me that peace does not always come from expensive places or grand adventures. Sometimes it can be found in quiet roads, clear skies, flowing water, and the simple beauty of farms waking up with the sunrise. I went home feeling calm, grateful, and refreshed after witnessing another beautiful morning in the province.
