A Round-by-Round Analysis of This Intense Splinterlands Battle — Two Challenging Rulesets
In this 52 mana battle there were very dangerous rule sets that limited both players in monster selection. Sometimes such rule sets appear that make it difficult for players to understand which type of monsters they should select and how they should position them.
Lets check which two rule sets appeared in this 52 mana battle. The first one is High Five.
HIGH FIVE
In High Five, you can summon a maximum of five monsters. Although the battle has a high mana cap meaning in a 52 mana battle you can normally fill all your slots because of this special rule set you are allowed to use only five monsters. So you do not get the opportunity to select more than that.
The best strategy in this rule set is to select monster cards that perform multiple roles. That means you should choose monsters that have good melee attack power, good speed, special abilities and can also work as support monsters. If you select such monsters they will perform better in your team.
In fact support monsters play a very important role in this rule set. They keep your allied units alive through continuous healing, repair and other support abilities.
Because in these rule sets the monsters also have low health which I will explain in the second rule set, it is better to select monsters that can also heal your team.
ANEMIC
The second special rule set is Anemic. In this rule set, at the start of the battle the maximum health of all monsters becomes only 4 HP. If your selected monsters normally have 8, 10, or 12 health then at the beginning of the battle according to this rule set their health is reduced to only 4.
Because of this battles become very fast and aggressive and the result of the battle is decided very quickly. You can also understand it this way that in this rule set the advantage of high health monsters completely disappears.
Therefore you should not select monsters based on health. Instead you should try to choose them based on armor, attack power and speed. Along with that they should also have abilities that can deliver excellent performance in this battle.
Keeping these two rule sets in mind I selected my Archon as my healer. This means the health of all my monsters increases by one. After that I selected a strong tank monster that is also a healer. It restores one by third of its health every round.
After that I played an aggressive strategy where I selected double striker and ranged attacker monsters. Finally I also selected a sneak melee monster that stays in the last position and attacks the enemy units easily.
At the start of the battle the battle was very close and exciting. My Dread Traffarin kept healing for quite a long time but because the enemy strikers were very strong and my units were eliminated.
The battle started quite well but one of my attacking units did not make any attack. Perhaps its positioning was wrong and because of that my team members were eliminated one by one.
My positioning and strategy were actually very good according to these rule sets but unfortunately I lost this battle. Even so it was an interesting and educational battle where I learned a lot about which monster should be placed in which position.
Next time I will try to use even better positioning and my goal will be to achieve a good victory in the battle.
In these two special rule sets, what strategy would you use and which monsters would you give more preference to? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
