Baking without baking paper / ベーキングペーパーを使わないでパンを焼く

Yesterday I went to a supermarket for grocery shopping almost after a week. There were still no flour and yeast. I wonder people buy these for really baking or just stocking for emergency. If they bake bread or cakes at home, I think there will be or is already baking paper shortage (I forgot to check it). I have few slices at home ...

It has been inconvenient recent weeks but I take it as a chance to be creative and resourceful. I decided to bake bread without baking paper as much as possible. I've already saving baking paper before corona pandemic by cutting it in half and using multiple times. But this time no baking paper :)

Except for the strange patter on the bottom, it worked fine with a tray that is supposed to be used for cooking french fries in oven.

I guess pie tins, pyrex glass containers etc will work the same. These I have were too small for the large sour dough bread though ... So give it a try if you are running out baking paper :)

It's tough time but people who luckily can stay healthy should take the time to remodel one's life.

昨日約一週間ぶりに買い物に行ったら小麦粉とイーストがまだ売り切れでした。みんなストックしているだけなのか、本気でパンやお菓子を焼いているだけなのか、後者だったらベーキングペーパーもなくなるかもしれません（もうなくなっている？）。まだ数枚台所にあるものの、いつものペースでパンを焼いていたら足りなくなること必至です。

買いに走ってもいいのですが、何か工夫できないかと、いただきもののフライドポテトを温めるトレーを使ってみることにしました。パンの裏側が波波になっているの意外はいい感じではないでしょうか。裏側は見えないし w これまでもパンの大きさに合わせて切って使ったり、再利用したり、最後はコンポストを乾かすのに使ったりで使う枚数は抑えていたのですが、これでまたかなり抑えられそうです。

こんな変なトレーないよ！という人は、パイレックスのグラタン皿、パイを焼くベーキングフォームなども使えると思います。

コロナウィルスが広まる中、日々の生活が不便になっていく気もしますが、健康な人たちはその中で工夫したり生活のあり方を見直したりするよい機会になるかもしれません :)
