Sunset skies

Down in Cape Town, South Africa, there is a beach called "Sunset Beach" This beach in particular is quite popular for swimming (If you are brave enough to swim in the icy Cape waters) surfing, wind-surfing and enjoying the beauty of Table Mountain, maybe slightly less popular than "Blouberg Beach" but with fantastic views non-the-less.

On this days visit we went around sunset, and as the beaches name suggests, this beach gives the greatest views of the sun setting over the sea, the sight is truly phenomenal. So I, of course, had my trusty camera in hand on our evening adventure. I wanted to play with some lighting and test my photo skills around this time of the night.

It may have taken a few tries to get the right settings but I really love how all of my photos came out, each one giving a creative view to the sun and the sea.

If you are planning to sit on the beach to watch the sun go down fully, take my advice and take a jacket, no matter how warm the day was... once the sun disappears it can be bitingly cold!

I think I was most proud of this photo I managed to get of the ship sailing in front of the sun, giving the optical illusion that the boat is actually shipping the sun into the harbour on its back!

Just sitting watching the ships slowly bob along the horizon the the harbour to end their day off is incredibly calming. Such a great way to decompress at the end of the day!

And just like that the sun is gone for another day, giving us a romantic orange sky!
