안녕하세요, 근 1주일만에 찾아뵙는
유쓰미 Hive account@y-o-u-t-h-m-e 입니다. ^^

록 음악에 크게 관심이 없는 분이시더라도,
U2 라는 밴드는 들어보셨을 것 같은데요,
바로 어제(8일), 밴드 결성 43년만에(!) 처음으로
U2가 한국을 방문하여 공연을 가졌었습니다!

공연 장비를 들여오는데에만 전세기 3대가 동원되었다고 하니,
공연 규모가 얼마나 컸을지 쉽사리 짐작이 가지 않네요. ^^;

직관을 갈만큼의 팬심이 있었던 밴드는 아니라
후기로만 그 감동을 전해 듣고 있지만,

그래도 큰 의미가 있었던 내한공연이었던 만큼,
유크박스에서도 포스팅으로 다루어보려고 합니다. ^^

'모든 것을 잃었지만, 아직 갖고 있는 것들에게서 기쁨을 발견하는 노래'
U2의 보컬 보노가 언급했던 노래의 의미입니다.

그래서 그런지,
노래 전반적으로 느껴지는 Positive한 바이브가 참 좋습니다. ^^

발매된지 거의 20년이 지난 곡인데, 세월이 전혀 느껴지지 않네요.
신디사이저와 전자음을 잘 사용하는
브라이언 이노가 프로듀서로 참여했지만,
이 앨범의 해당 곡에서는 전자음을 최대한 절제하고
밴드 사운드를 있는 그대로 살린 느낌이라 개인적으로 마음에 듭니다. ^^

TMI : 이 곡을 통해 U2는 2001년에 무려 3개의 그래미 상을 수상했습니다!

U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin, formed in 1976. The group consists of Bono (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), the Edge (lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion). Initially rooted in post-punk, U2's musical style has evolved throughout their career, yet has maintained an anthemic quality built on Bono's expressive vocals and the Edge's effects-based guitar textures. Their lyrics, often embellished with spiritual imagery, focus on personal and sociopolitical themes. Popular for their live performances, the group have staged several ambitious and elaborate tours over their career.

The band formed as teenagers while attending Mount Temple Comprehensive School, when they had limited musical proficiency. 그래미상 22회 수상에 빛나는 살아있는 전설,
아일랜드 출신의 록밴드 U2 입니다.

결성 후 43년이라는 세월이 지났는데,
아직도 이렇게 왕성한 투어활동을 하는것을 보며
정말 경외심이 드는 밴드입니다.

음악성과 대중성을 동시에 잡기가 참 쉽지 않은데,
그 어려운 것을 해낸 몇 안되는 밴드이기도 하고,
음악 뿐만 아니라 국제적, 사회적 이슈에 대한 관심과
이해도가 높으며 본인들의 생각과 의견을
음악을 통해 투영하는 능력이 뛰어난 밴드입니다.

내한공연 후기 영상들을 보니
직관을 가지 않은게 살짝 아쉬운 마음마저 드네요.. ^^;

많은 리스너들의 갬성(?)을 자극하는 발라드 록입니다.. 후렴구가 참 좋네요.

제가 개인적으로 록 음악을 좋아하는 이유중에 하나가,
'세월을 타지 않는 바이브' 인데,

정말이지 마지막 추천곡인 With or Without You 같은 곡은,
1987년에 발매된 곡이 맞나 싶을 정도로
30년이 지난 지금 들어도 세련되고 아름답습니다.

대중음악 역사상 가장 위대한 밴드 중 하나이자,
록 음악의 살아있는 전설인 밴드, U2 였습니다.
