안녕하세요, 19년도 수능일 밤에 인사드리는
유쓰미 @y-o-u-t-h-m-e 입니다. ^^

올해도 여지없이 수능 당일에 한파가 찾아오면서,
'수능한파' 라는 전통(?)을 다시 이어가네요.
아침기온이 최저 영하 2도를 기록하면서,
서울 기준 올해 첫 영하를 찍었던 것 같습니다.

어제 내렸던 가을비가,
곧 찾아올 겨울을 알리는 비였나봅니다.

오늘 올려드리는 곡은,
다소 슬프게 들릴 수 있는 곡입니다.
하지만 발라드의 감성과는 사뭇 다른 느낌입니다.

댄스비트 위에 입혀진 슬픈 음악이라니,
흔하지 않은 장르의 음악입니다.
우선 한 번 들어보세요. ^^

Elena Tonra의 보컬에서는 '절제된 우울함'이 느껴집니다.
멜랑콜리한 음악에 특화된 목소리라고 할까요,
'이 목소리로 신나는 노래를 부를 수 있을까?'
하는 생각이 들 정도입니다.

금방이라도 부서질 것 같은 마음을 부여잡고
노래를 부르는 듯한 느낌이 드는 엘레나의 보컬입니다.

Elena Tonra is an England born folk singer. She is popular for being the founder of the group Daughter.
Similarly, she is frontwoman for the British indie-folk group.
The indie-folk band was fronted by her who is North London native. Also, they formed the band in the year 2010.
It was made after Swiss-born guitarist Igor Haefeli & drummer Remi Aguilella became the part of the group.

Talking about the band, they have four EPs & three albums. Likewise, they have signed Glassnote and 4AD.
Further, Elena keeps posting photos with her band members on her Instagram.

목소리만 듣고 눈치 채셨을 분도 계시겠지만,
오늘 소개해드린 Elena Tonra는,
영국 인디록 밴드 Daughter의 메인보컬입니다.
Daughter라는 이름이 너무나 대중적인(?) 밴드명 때문에
대중에게는 잘 알려지지 못한 느낌도 들지만,
얼터너티브/인디록을 좋아하는 리스너들에게는
익히 잘 알려져있는 밴드입니다.

한국에는 지난 2014년 Mogwai의 내한공연때
오프닝 밴드로 함께 공연을 한 적이 있습니다.
(그때에는 도터를 몰랐던게 매우 아쉽네요..^^;)

서정적인 멜로디, 멜랑콜리한 곡들의 분위기,
그리고 가녀린 엘라나의 목소리가 어우러져
그녀만의 독특한 음악적 아우라를 만드는 것 같습니다.

혹자는 이런 장르의 음악을
'돈 안되는 음악한다' 라고 걱정(?)하기도 하지만,
유쓰미와 같은 조용한 팬들도 있다는걸 알아주었으면 좋겠습니다. ^^
