The path that must be taken
Good morning, friends!
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything here on 3speak, but today I felt like coming back to share a short video. This video was made during an event about the African communities that were colonized by Portugal. Many of them hold a true cultural treasure, which, until more than half a century ago, was not widely known to the general public around the world.
After decolonization, these communities began to develop, but much of what was done in the past still casts a less-than-positive shadow today.
There is still a long road ahead in terms of acceptance and the pursuit of respect for others—something that, unfortunately, humanity has not yet achieved.
The sense of respect for others and for oneself, for our cultures and our customs, cannot be abolished or simply eliminated.
Currently, we see that in Western cultures—or so-called Westernized cultures—there is, in a certain sense, a suppression of these cultures in the face of customs that can no longer be accepted.
There is still much to be done to reduce human suffering. And it is up to each of us to contribute to this effort.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
