Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh - Round - 431 - black-and-white imagination

Welcome to my entry for today's SMASh contest from "The Shadow Hunters Community"!

How was your weekend?

How is this week going for you? It’s still Monday, and, funnily enough, I feel like I need a break from the weekend. The high temperatures we’re experiencing across Europe aren’t doing my health any favors. Even though I’m someone who really loves the heat and the sun, I’ve noticed over the years that high temperatures aren’t very good for me.

I don’t feel like doing anything. And I don’t have much energy to plan my days.

And today, unfortunately, after a very hot weekend, I feel exhausted. Even though I managed to sleep relatively well, I woke up feeling like I wanted to sleep for at least another hour… And that kind of tiredness isn’t very common for me right after I wake up. I may even have less resistance to fatigue, and feel more drained throughout the day, but it’s very rare for me to feel this way as soon as I wake up.

Let’s see what the rest of the week has in store for me. Maybe the rest of the week will go well.

This past weekend, I had two club events, and I mainly had to help with the organization. But it ends up dashing any desire I have to do something different—like go see a cultural event or take a stroll through a garden near my house, which I love to do on weekends.

Last week, in the middle of an afternoon at work, and before taking a short break, I noticed the pattern of shadows that the windows and window frames in a hallway at my workplace cast on the floor and around it.

It was almost like a suspense movie, where the main character is hiding from the villain behind a window, trying not to be seen by him. Like in those old American Westerns, where the villain is seen through a window of a boardinghouse room overlooking the saloon in the town center. Who remembers this all-too-common scene that appeared in almost every Western of that era?

A bit like that shot, where, before the showdown, the characters were filmed starting with a low-angle shot showing only their boots with spurs, and then the camera would rise to waist level, where the revolvers—loaded and in their holsters—were just seconds away from being fired?

And what about you—how often do you find yourselves letting your thoughts wander? How many of you, when you have some free time, use it to think about a story you’ve imagined? Just yesterday I posted about this very topic.
About the importance of letting your mind wander and the creative and cognitive processes.

I hope you enjoyed this humble post of mine here in this community!
