Squirm? by Sherie C
Pungent smells of the wet market
loud calls from the sellers
wicker baskets with live animals
hold tight, cash in pocket
grins, sneers and leers
hunt for the worm stall
through a thick circuit
of polluted fumes and smokers
I buy a red wormball
a squirmy thicket
to feed Boris and Speedster
our pet terrapins
