Thoughts and Gratefulness
I'm up at 1am thinking about my life and having those momentary jolts of motivation. Well, a health issue is actually the reason I am awake. I haven't slept well since the start of the week because of it and tonight is no different. I'm spending tonight doing a bit of research on career paths in my field and the best next step to take to really stand out. I am now completely done with my master's program and I am in the market for a good job that I'll love. It does feel good to say I am completely done with school because it came with a lot stress. I don't miss crying while writing some of my assessments or struggling to meet deadlines but I do miss the research and brainstorming part. I have always been excited about the career prospects available even though it's a tough choice between desirable, available and attainable lol. Overall, I'm in a good place right now and feeling very optimistic.
What can I say? I have a roof over my head, food on my table, a lovely life partner, and I'm not dying. It seems cliché but this is the level of adulthood I have unlocked - gratefulness for the seemingly regular. I now understand why when I was younger, adults would randomly sigh and say, "thank you Jesus". Sometimes all you can be is just grateful for being able to have a rest or sleep. I wish I was asleep right now and on a 100 but I'm not. I'm grateful I'm breathing though, and I'm grateful my mental health is not in the mud currently. What 'regular' things are you grateful for?
