Sunday Rant: I Do Not Like This Reality

The world that I live in is not ideal, less of beautiful roses and more of thorns, deep cutting my flesh and I wishing it'd stop. It never stops though, reality just keeps getting worse. It's Father's Day and I want to think of all the amazing fathers taking care of their families, protecting and nurturing in the best way they can like sane men should. All I can think of is the useless men that molest their kids. In the light of exposing rape offenders, there's been a quite a number of arrests which is impressive for a shitty justice system like ours but still, it's not representative of the large amount of rape offenders in the country.

Last week a man was arrested for raping his 4yr old daughter. Two weeks ago a man unapologetically admitted to raping his two daughters in the last six years 'because their mum died and he was lonely'. As if there is an excuse for rape! A grown man also raped a 3 months old baby last week causing her lifelong complications. You'd think these men are mad but I say they're not. These are sane people who do whatever they want and feel they can get away with it.

Those with influence even lockup and threaten women they rape. People rather not believe the testimony of a rape survivor than believe their role models are rapists. This is happening right in front of us and all we can do is lend our voice, our voices are gradually working for us. We would not be silent.

It's Sunday today, I don't know why Christians are holding worship service in their churches. They say they're social distancing while at it but that's just bull crap. They're all still in contact with each other. Do you not want to live? I don't get it. I don't get the faux love a lot of these church people want to show so bad. A typical Nigerian Sunday service is usually a show of the finest outfits, the wealthiest, a clash of opinions and who goes home in the finest rides. Why risk your health to go show fake brotherly love there anyway?
