CASSAVA CHEESE RECIPE

Despite there is no cheese in this recipe, this cassava is named as cassava cheese. When you crave a late night greasy snack, this is a perfect Indonesian snack accompanied with hot tea/coffee. Our mom loves to make this and tonight she's making this delicious Cassava Cheese with her secret recipe that Mac going to share today. Mac used to love this snack and would ask to make this snack. There are other variants with powdered flavors but original version is better.

  • 1KG CASSAVA
  • 1 LT WATER
  • OIL for frying

SPICES

  • 5 GARLIC
  • SALT

HOW TO MAKE

  • Chop the cassava into several blocks and soak them in the water and rinse.
  • Mash the garlic and add salt. Pour the water into the paste
  • Put the cassava inside the the water mixed with garlic paste
  • Wait for an hour
  • Heat the pan and wait the oil to boil
  • Fry the cassava one by one and pull out when it turns golden brown
  • Drain the oil and serve while it's hot.

You might think where is the cheese? well there's no chese. But people calling it pohong keju just so people think it has more value to sell since generally cassava is very cheap. We think that it was a good marketing plan adding cheese to make it sound more expensive. Anyway, that's it from our family today. We'd like to see you soon.
