More Than a Timepiece: The Story Behind My Favorite Watch

Hello my dear Hive friends! 💖 Wishing you all well and good health 🙏

Time really flies by so quickly. Imagine, I've had this watch for eight years now. This watch has a lot of sentimental value to me. It was the first expensive thing I bought with my salary from my very first job. In other words, this watch was my gift to myself back then. It was the first time I gave myself a gift from my very own salary.

I don't really like wearing jewelries or expensive things, but back then, I allowed myself to buy something. I also thought carefully about what I bought. I made sure that the thing I bought as a gift for myself was something that besides being beautiful, I could also use for a long time.

When I was in college, this watch was very popular. I don't even know why it became a trend. Because it had a nice style and this brand was tried and tested? Maybe. There were also a lot of fake watches like this, so at that time, I think almost everyone wore them, even fake ones. I didn't follow the trend back then, because I was saving money when I was in college so I could spend money on my projects and thesis. I just promised myself that when I got a job and started earning a salary, I would only buy things like this.

Why did I really like it? First of all, I want the watch to be water resistant, so I don't have to worry about taking it off and putting it back on when I wash my hands. I could easily forget things, sometimes hehe 😅 In addition, it also has an alarm.

It also has a light in case it is dark. It can also be set to military time, which I'm more used to. Because at the place where I worked before, we also checked the date code on the products we made.

I was very happy at the time I purchased it! 💖 I also couldn't believe that I finally bought myself something like this. Also, it brings me joy and sense of fulfillment because it was my gift for myself on my birthday 🎂

I often wear this watch when I go to casual or formal gatherings. I feel more comfortable wearing it and it gives me confidence.

Another fantastic thing about this watch is that it still works even though I haven't replaced the battery since then. It has been proven to be durable so I don't regret buying it. It still looks the same when I bought it even though I've had it for a long time. It also doesn't fade, like the joy and memories it has given me.
