"This system is broken," he scoffed under his breath. His dad looked up from his newspaper. Over the brim of his eyeglasses, he studied his adult son. Not scorning, not daring, just absorbing what had been said
In his mind, he agreed with the boy. Yes, the system felt broken, lost, rigged. But he knew it was the evolving. He couldn't even compare it to the ol' days; each new invention, each upgrade, made the present too different. And with each upgrade, a part of the system cracked.
But he knew, for something to change, something has to break. For the future to accommodate the upcoming inventions and upgrade, the system will have to break.
Directed to his son he said, "the system seems broken because it's evolving. It's not broken; it's becoming."
