I have three sisters and four brothers; I don't get along equally well with all of them, though I do get along well enough. As for my sister Hive account@carisma77, we share a wonderful sisterly relationship.

Tengo 3 hermanas y 4 hermanos, no con todos me la llevo igual de bien, aunque sí lo suficiente. En el caso de mi hermana Hive account@carisma77, compartimos una maravillosa relación de hermanas.

Desde siempre nos la hemos llevado bien...

Many of you likely know that a powerful earthquake recently struck Venezuela; my sister Carisma77 lost her home, and I cannot stop imagining the moments of terror and anguish she undoubtedly endured during such a devastating event. Her pain is my pain; her anguish hurts me, and it breaks my heart to know how deeply affected she is.

Yet, I also feel immense pride seeing her filled with strength and faith. I saw her a couple of times this week; the sadness in her eyes is unmistakable—though the Venezuelan people as a whole are currently in mourning and filled with sorrow—yet she shows courage and a true willingness to heal her wounds. What can I say? She is just as beautiful as ever. 🙂

Muchos sabrán que recientemente hubo un fuerte terremoto en Venezuela, mi hermana Carisma77 perdió su hogar y es difícil para mí dejar de imaginar los momentos de terror y angustia que sin duda vivió durante tan devastador suceso. Me duele su dolor, me duele su angustia, me duele saber que está muy afectada.

Sin embargo, me siento muy orgullosa al verla también llena de fortaleza y de fe. Esta semana la vi un par de veces, es indudable la tristeza en sus ojos, aunque en este momento el pueblo venezolano está de luto y lleno de tristeza en general, a su vez ella demuestra valentía y toda la disposición de sanar las heridas. Qué les puedo decir? Está igual de hermosa que siempre 🙂

Most of my immediate family and I have made it a point to support Carisma however we can—with a word of encouragement, a well-timed silence from someone who doesn't want to overwhelm you but lets you know they are there, and by providing necessary material items.

Some bonds that had been broken were mended; good things happen during storms, too.

La gran parte de mi familia más cercana y yo hemos estado pendiente de apoyar a Carisma en lo que podamos, una palabra de aliento, un silencio oportuno de quien no desea agobiarte pero te hace saber que estás ahí y algunos objetos materiales que son necesarios.

Algunos lazos que se habían quebrantado volvieron a unirse, también ocurren cosas buenas en las tormentas.

Today, my soul still weeps for my homeland—for the anguish and pain of so many Venezuelan brothers and sisters—yet it also gives thanks for the opportunity life has granted my sister by blood, Carisma. Little by little, the wounds will ache less, and we will continue to build moments we will cherish for as long as we have the chance to remain here.

Hoy mi alma aún llora por mi tierra, por la angustia y el dolor de tantos hermanos venezolanos, pero también agradece la oportunidad que la vida le otorgó a mi hermana de sangre Carisma. Poco a poco, las heridas dolerán menos y seguiremos construyendo momentos que atesoraremos mientras tengamos la oportunidad de seguir aquí.
