My Ex: A 5-Minute Freewrite

One sunny day, Aria was with a female friend inside a coffee show when she noticed a familiar man enter. As she stared intently at the guy, her friend couldn't help but be curious.

"You know him?" her friend asked.

Aria hesitated for a while before nodding her head. "My ex," she answered. "We broke up two years ago."

"I see..."

Aria's friend became curious after discovering the man was her ex-boyfriend and started scrutinizing him.

"He's quite handsome," commented Aria's friend. "Why did you two break up."

Hearing her friend's question, Aria was reminded of the event that ended their relationship. It all started when she saw his boyfriend with another girl inside a coffee shop. They seemed to be on a date and looked relatively close.

They break up because of jealousy on Aria's part. Later, she found out that the girl was his cousin who had just returned from another country. The two coincidentally met that day and entered the coffee shop to catch up.

Unfortunately, she ignored the man when he tried to explain the situation that time because she was still feeling emotional then. It was only months later that she found out the truth. But as they say, there's no pill for regret, and Aria could only move on.

Unexpectedly, she meets him again, and at a coffee shop of all places.

"Why not try approaching him?" Her friend suggested seeing Aria being out of it. "Maybe there's still a chance for you two."

Aria contemplated for a brief moment before gathering her courage and standing up. With all her courage, she walked towards her ex.
