A New World: A 5-Minute Freewrite

Fred is a village boy who knows almost nothing of the outside world. As such, when his uncle took him to the city for the first time, he experienced the greatest shock of his life.

It was like a new world.

Indeed, for someone as ignorant as Fred, the city might as well be a new world entirely. Tall buildings that pierce the sky; roads made out of concrete; entertainment facilities; the beautiful night lights—everything looked dazzling and fascinating to the boy.

This is how civilization should look, unlike their boring and drab village.

Fred wished that he could stay in the city forever, but reality struck, and the boy could only reluctantly return to his village after a week. After all, he was only visiting.

Once back in the village, the boy boasted about his experience in the city. Hearing about the beautiful city, his friends were very envious of him.

Fred himself could not forget the city and said that he would live there in the future. But considering his age, that's still a long way to go. As such, he could only reminisce for the time being.
